The New Mexico Office of African American Affairs (OAAA) held their 9th Annual Outstanding Service Awards ceremonies on June 9, 2012.
In the category recognizing Outstanding Community Development, Cynthia & George Geder were the awardees representing Santa Fe, New Mexico.
From the program book:
In the five years that Cynthia and George Geder (genealogist) have been in Santa Fe, they have actively been involved in advocating for recognition of African American contributions to the Santa Fe community. Cynthia has been Secretary and Membership Chair for the Santa Fe Branch of the NAACP for over three years. George has been elected At-Large Executive Committee member, and he is webmaster and newsletter editor for the Santa Fe NAACP. Cynthia and George have been actively contributing to the NM African American Legacy Exhibit for the African American Museum and Cultural Center of New Mexico.We are humbled and honored by this award and wanted to share it with our family and friends!
We also congratulate the other awardees from throughout the state.
